(Belated) Happy Republic Day; 3 Healthy Eating Habits to Adopt

26th January 1950, this is the day when India became a republic and new constitution came into force. Every year this day is celebrated to commemorate the date when our constitution came into effect.

A grand parade is held every year, which starts from the Raisina Hill, this place is in close vicinity to the Rashtripati Bhavan and parade ends at India Gate. This parade also shows the technological advancements of India and every Indian state take part by showing innovative tableaus depicting their culture. This parade also exhibits the power of Indian Military; Indian armed forces register their active participation in this parade.

Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, they are also remembered and prestigious gallantry awards like Kirti Chakra and Ashok Chakra are awarded by the president of India.

The President, Prime Minister and all the ministers with high officials are present on this notable occasion. All the eminent personalities and general populace are gathered to witness this special day, which is celebrated every year since 1950.

 This day is celebrated not only in Delhi, the capital of India, but the whole nation is engulfed in the colors of patriotism and celebration. 26th January is a gazetted holiday and all the government offices whether they are of central government or state government remains closed.

The republic day celebrations are concluded with the official beating retreat ceremony on 29th January. Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force jointly perform this ceremony

Every year you make a resolution to eat healthy and stay fit but unfortunately you cannot continue with your resolutions. Here are three simple healthy eating rules to support your resolution in order to stay fit.

1. Eat Carbohydrate in Moderation

If you have a sweet tooth, don’t worry most us have but we must keep a check on our intake. So our body will not be overload with the excess of carbohydrates and body insulin will work in the right order, if we consume the carbohydrates in moderation.

2. Protein

You must have 10% – 35% calories from protein as they play a significant role in building muscles and provides long lasting energy in our daily routine. Fish, beans and soy products are considered good source of protein.

3. Fat

Contrary to popular belief that fat is not good for body; experts opine that fat is the most essential part of our diet. But what matters is the kind of fat you are consuming.  Monounsaturated fats and omega 3 fatty acids are good for our body as they help in lowering the bad cholesterol and increase the good cholesterol.
