Why Magnesium is important in body?

Magnesium is an important mineral for the human body and is naturally present in the many foods, medicines and other dietary supplements. The human body itself contains an approximately 25g of magnesium with about 60% of which is found in the bones and the rest of them in muscle and soft tissues.

Magnesium plays an important role in the active transportation of calcium, potassium ions across the cell membranes that result in nerve impulse conduction, muscle contraction and enables normal heart rhythm.  Magnesium plays a vital role in maintaining energy levels, is a natural calcium channel blocker, and is key mineral for healthy bones.

The other name of Epsom Salt is Magnesium Sulfate, which is an excellent source of absorbing magnesium. This Epsom Salt works well when soaked by skin through bathing process. However, precaution should be observed when consuming Epson Salt, as only a few grams of magnesium can be enough for the body. This amounts to about a single tablespoon of Epsom Salt.

Studies do show that approximately 500 grams or two cups of Epsom Salt dissolved in 15 gallons of water is ideal for raising the magnesium levels of the body. Therefore, one can say that Epsom Salt is a good source of increasing magnesium levels within the human body thereby protecting oneself from certain ailments.
