Many times you might have wondered what to bring as a gift to a friend suffering from cancer, whether the patient is on chemo or had chosen some alternative healing method. And many of you might know that sugar is not cancers best friend, because according to studies, the cancer grows together with the sugar blood level. And sugars being the forbidden apple, we all know that every human being is craving for it, forbidden or not, cancer or not, and you know you cannot bring a box of donuts or muffin, with all kinds of icing and toppings, making your stomach celebrate and cry tears of joy through your mouth.
Now, what if I tell you that you can do that, and not only that the muffins wouldn’t be bad for the cancer, nor it will stay neutral, they will be muffins cancer fighters? Well it is true, and an apple a day, can now be a muffin a day, sugar-free, and filled with excellent nutritional ingredient to promote healthy diet, and also be a cancer fighter.
There has been a small study in Canada, where they studied the effects of flaxseed oil over breast cancerous cell and colon cancerous cells. The results were more than good! Flaxseed can slow tumor growth, because of the phytoestrogens found in it, which are natural source of SERMs (selective estrogen receptor modifiers). One of the remedies used for reducing breast cancer recurrence risk, Tamoxifen, is also SERM. This study has shown that the effects of flaxseed is the same as Tamoxifen and has an excellent preventive effect on breast and colon cancer. The study was performed on patients, from whom every patient received one muffin daily, some patients ate flaxseed oil muffin (25 grams of flaxseed per muffin) and plain muffins, while others ate only plain. 29 of 39 women have shown significant reduction in the cancer growth compared to other who ate only plain muffins. All the patients were already gone through menopause, and their urine analysis has shown high presence of phytoestrogens, believed responsible for the tumor growth reduction.
Cannabis products also have a strong impact on cancer cells, regardless whether it is breast, colon, brain or any other cancer. The right strain of cannabis can be lifesaving, choosing the right dosage of THC for cancer reducing and elimination, or using it as a pain reliever; you can also use it in a muffins. Making muffins with cannabis oil and canabis seeds is perfectly good, as long as you use the right amount and right type of cannabis oil and seeds. You can use for this ofcourse also canabis feminized seeds, offered on many online shops. Grinding the medicinal cannabis will help extract the oil faster, and then simply mix it with 100% pure vegetable oil, and add all the other ingredients and you know the rest. The effect of cannabis on cancerous cells is no taboo for cancer patients, so don’t hesitate to try it.
And this is only a couple of the ingredients for making those delicious mouthwatering drool pumping muffins. The list is probably never-ending, as long as you stick to few rules:
- try and use less sugar (or no sugar at all)
- use whole grain flour
- use oil that has proof that it fights cancer (flaxseed oil, cannabis oil, coconut oil etc.)
- use honey
- use all the super-fruits you can find and think of (always fresh, or at least frozen, never canned)
Making muffins sugar free, depleting it of all sugars (honey included), can be difficult, but only if you don’t have the right perfectly healthy substitute. Already widely known, stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) leaves are a healthy substitute for sugar, it is 300 times sweeter than sugar, it is organic, and can be planted in your backyard (with small effort, and moderate planting knowledge), in order avoiding the industrial manufactured type. Carefully dose the stevia sweetener, use only a little, because large amount will add more bitter than sweet taste to the muffin (which is not always bad).
Now that you are ready for your first bake, here is a recipe for the mouthwatering anticancer everyday good muffin:
